Erika Gehrie, MD is a cardiologist with an expertise in non-interventional cardiology. Dr. Gehrie is board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular imaging. Growing up, she admired the role that physicians held in the community and aspired to these aspects of community service and leadership.

Dr. Gehrie believes it is important to build a relationship with each patient and to understand their lifestyle and circumstances. “This background is immensely informative when developing a tailored program for cardiac health,” she says. Most important during a patient visit is forming a bond with the patient. Dr. Gehrie adds, “Doctors establish long histories with patients, and the underlying connection with each is the cornerstone for establishing continuity of care.”

She enjoys achieving positive outcomes for patients, whether this means improved bloodwork, reduced co-morbidities, or detecting a life-threatening condition in time for intervention. Dr. Gehrie says, “In each case, I take great satisfaction in having made a meaningful difference in a patient’s health.”

She is a seven-time published physician and has received The Peter Elsbach Award for Excellence in Research.

Outside of practicing medicine. Dr. Gehrie enjoys coaching her kids’ sports teams, outdoor activities, including hiking, skiing, and planning adventure travel.
