Parul Kaker, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Cardiology team. As a general and interventional cardiologist, Dr. Kakar treats adults and focuses on patients with coronary blockages and stents. She is interested in preventive cardiology through the procedural subspecialty of interventional cardiology. Dr. Kakar treats patients in the clinic and the hospital setting.

Dr. Kakar is drawn to medicine's healing and therapeutic aspects and strongly believes in educating patients about their disease processes. She believes that educating patients about their disease allows them to take control of their treatment plans. Dr. Kakar uses her love of education in her daily patient interactions. Dr. Kakar thinks it is essential for every patient to understand their disease, take the appropriate action, and know all available treatment options.

Dr. Kakar is passionate about making patients feel comfortable and knowledgeable about their disease. She believes establishing trust is the most critical aspect of a patient’s visit.  “I think it is essential to listen to each patient’s story and develop a unique treatment plan,” said Dr. Kakar.

Outside of work, Dr. Kakar enjoys staying active and spending time with family.
