Gerardo Trejo, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Family and Internal Medicine team. As a family medicine physician, Dr. Trejo’s expertise lies in treating everyone from infants to older adults. Dr. Trejo is also trained in vascular medicine. He has a strong interest in reproductive and women’s health, men’s health, and LGBTO+ medicine.

Dr. Trejo brings a passion for problem-solving and critical thinking skills to his practice. His care philosophy centers around a holistic and patient-centered approach. Dr. Trejo believes each patient should be treated as a unique individual, considering not only their physical health but also their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. He strives to build strong doctor-patient relationships based on trust, empathy, and effective communication.

Dr. Trejo is committed to active listening and taking the time to understand his patients’ concerns, values, and goals. “Active listening helps me tailor treatment plans that are not only evidence-based and medically sound but also aligned with my patients’ preferences,” said Dr. Trejo. “I focus on shared decision-making, where we collaboratively explore treatment options and make choices that best suit their circumstances.”

Outside of work, Dr. Trejo enjoys gardening, painting, and photography.
