Maria Rivera, ANP-BC, is a member of Summit Health's Pain Medicine team. She has always felt a calling to help and care for others, which led her to pursue a career in healthcare.

Specializing in Pain Medicine, Maria primarily treats patients with orthopedic and spinal issues. Her practice focuses on bringing patients pain relief by utilizing treatment modalities that can reduce reliance on pain medications.

Maria believes in holistic and compassionate care, which she applies in her approach. "I love being part of a team that helps reduce our patients' pain and seeing improvement in their quality of life."

Outside of work, Maria has a range of interests. She enjoys meditation and yoga, watching Broadway theater and classic movies, listening to music, and taking retreats to the Catskill mountains. She also holds a deep passion for palliative and end-of-life care. Maria believes that this area of care is often misunderstood and requires much education.
