David Abrutyn, MD is the Chair of Summit Health Orthopedics and is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. His specialty is the nonoperative and operative treatment of the shoulder and knee. Former captain of his high school varsity basketball, baseball and soccer teams, Dr. Abrutyn understands the importance of prevention. He notes, “As long as I can remember, I wanted to be a doctor. My interest in orthopedics sparked when I tore my ACL in high school, and I benefitted from outstanding treatment that made it possible for me to eventually run the New York Marathon and continue playing basketball.
