Dr. Anum Waqar is an experienced member of Summit Health's Internal Medicine team who joined Summit Health in 2018. Dr. Waqar is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and practices as an outpatient general internist /primary care physician. She is highly qualified to treat patients for a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions like hypertension and diabetes, and offers preventive care. She enjoys developing lifelong relationships with patients as their physician. She strives to partner with her patients in making informed decisions on their health. She is passionate on the roles of preventive care and lifestyle on patient well-being. Dr. Waqar was inspired by her father who was practicing internal medicine and cardiology in a rural area. During Dr. Waqar's residency training, she received the Mark J. Marmora, D.O. Memorial Award for excellence in osteopathic medicine and osteopathic manipulative therapy. During her final year of training Dr. Waqar received the Internal Medicine Clinical Resident Award in recognition of the resident who best exemplifies excellence in Primary Care. Dr. Waqar is a member of the American College of Physicians. Outside of work, Dr. Waqar enjoys traveling, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.
