About Katherine DiDonato, PhD, ACT
As a member of Summit Health’s Behavioral Health team, Dr. DiDonato’s expertise includes treatment for anxiety disorders including panic, persistent worry, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, and illness anxiety. Additionally, she treats patients who have difficulty with relationships, depression, adjustment to life circumstances, grief, nightmares, anger, diet and weight loss management, and managing ADHD in adulthood. She has expertise in perinatal mood disorders including post-partum depression, anxiety, and anger. She helps parents who have experienced perinatal deaths. Dr. DiDonato also works with patients to cope with their medical conditions like misophonia, tinnitus, or IBS.
“I collaborate with my patients to develop realistic and achievable goals. Every session is an opportunity to progress further and achieve those goals. My approach is to utilize the most effective, evidence-based treatments to target negative thoughts and behaviors that cause and maintain difficult, painful emotions.” she shares.
Before joining Summit Health, Dr. DiDonato worked at the New York Harbor Healthcare Veterans Affairs in Brooklyn, and then at the Bergen County Division of Family Guidance as the Forensic Program Supervisor.
When she is not working with her patients, Dr. DiDonato enjoys reading, watching action movies, going to comedy shows, and taking Zumba classes.
