Krishna Patel, PA, is part of Summit Health’s Family and Internal Medicine team. Ms. Patel received her Master of Science Physician Assistant degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J. She initially pursued a career in health care because she feels nothing is more rewarding than being able to help patients improve their health. Ms. Patel expresses her compassion and care for patients through medicine.

With an expertise in internal medicine, Ms. Patel specializes in primary care, which she refers to as: “The bread and butter of medicine, treating patients who have simple colds to complex conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, and hypertension.” Her approach to patient care is dedicated to the old adage of “treating patients how you or your family members would want to be treated,” she explains. Ms. Patel believes that patient care is not always simple but being able to put yourself in the patients’ shoes is the key to providing the best possible care.

What is most important to Ms. Patel during a patient visit is to be able to listen attentively to what the patient is saying and respond in a timely manner. She enjoys being a physician assistant because it allows flexibility between specialties and gives her the opportunity to take care of a diverse population of patients of all ages and backgrounds.

When she is not providing quality health care to patients in the office, Ms. Patel enjoys spending time with her baby and family, going for long walks, and working on furniture restoration projects. She also is especially passionate about volunteering for No Kid Hungry, an organization that helps feed hungry children in America.
