Srishti Shah, DO, is a member of Summit Health’s Family Medicine team. Dr. Shah has a genuine interest in health science and enjoys taking the knowledge she has received over the years to give back to the community. Dr. Shah believes there are so many people in need of health care and if she can make a difference in even one person’s life, then she has done her part in this world.

Family medicine is Dr. Shah’s area of her expertise, including treating children, adults, and geriatric patients for a wide variety of medical conditions and diseases. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, she is trained to perform osteopathic manipulative treatments, which use the musculoskeletal, soft tissue, vascular, and lymphatic systems to help the body regulate and heal itself.

Her approach to patient care is to “treat the patient as a whole, rather than just treating the symptom.” Since every system in the human body is connected, it is important to Dr. Shah to use a broader approach when healing and treating patients. Her philosophy includes the belief that the mind and body work together, and that helping patients use preventative medicine combined with healthy lifestyles will help prevent illnesses.

What is most important to Dr. Shah during a patient visit is the doctor-patient relationship and a combined decision-making process regarding the patient’s plan of care. She also wants to ensure that every patient feels their needs have been addressed efficiently and effectively. Her work as a doctor keeps her on her toes due to the many conditions she treats and continual advances in treatments that are available.

When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Shah enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and dancing. She is also interested in educating the community about preventative medicine, including age-appropriate cancer screenings, healthy eating habits, and regular exercise for good heart health.
