Nicole D. Swain, LPC, NCC, ACS, ACT, is a Diplomat of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and provides cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) services to individuals and couples. Her expertise includes adjustment disorders, grief, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, major depressive disorder, dysthymia, Bipolar II, chronic illness, chronic pain and marital/couples therapy. In addition, she has specialized training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help patients dealing with chronic stress.

In addition to her position at Summit Health, Ms. Swain provides training and consultation services to Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.

Before joining Summit Health, Ms. Swain worked in a variety of settings including: University of Medicine and Dentistry’s acute and outpatient departments, Resolve Community Counseling Center, Intensive Family Support Services and was the Director of Residential Services for Easter Seals of New Jersey.

She is a member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, The Association for Behavioral & Cognitive Therapy, the New Jersey Association of Cognitive Therapists, and the New Jersey Counseling Association.

Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and nurse practitioners, Ms. Swain partners with her patients to help them achieve their goals.
