Stefanie Knapp, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Ophthalmology team. Dr. Knapp pursued a career in health care because it combines her love of people and science. Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, she completed her medical education at Vanderbilt Medical School and her ophthalmology residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital of the University of Texas in Dallas.

As a general ophthalmologist, Dr. Knapp has clinical expertise in every condition and disease affecting the eye, including cataracts, glaucoma, and comprehensive eye exams.

“I enjoy working with patients as a team with the patient being an active participant in their care,” she said. Dr. Knapp enjoys getting to know multiple generations within a family. She sees patients for routine care as well as problem-focused visits.

Dr. Knapp believes it is important to make sure patients feel heard and taken care of. “It is a privilege to help restore and preserve something as precious as my patients’ vision,” she says.

When she is not treating patients in the office, Dr. Knapp loves spending time outdoors and enjoys running, swimming, and biking.
