Sean Hu, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Pulmonary and Critical Care team. Dr. Hu's childhood experiences with severe asthma inspired him to become a physician to help patients with lung conditions. He is also passionate about making a positive impact on people's lives and is intrigued by the complexity of the human body and science.

Dr. Hu's area of expertise includes treating lung conditions like asthma/COPD, smoking/occupational related lung disease, pleural disease, interstitial lung disease/pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer and more. His practice includes the use of bronchoscopy to aid in diagnosis of certain lung conditions and other pulmonary related procedures. Dr.Hu provides critical care for patients with various acute/chronic illnesses. 

During a visit with a patient, Dr. Hu prioritizes understanding their specific goals and needs. He believes in building a relationship of trust and ensuring proper evidence-based treatment is utilized for their illness. "What I enjoy most about what I do is the ability to build relationships with my patients and help them improve their quality of life," Dr. Hu says. He finds it very rewarding to see patients improve and prevent the decline of their illness through medical therapy, education, and preventative care.

When he is not providing care to his patients, Dr. Hu enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, playing basketball, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys card and board games and is passionate about education and increasing medical literacy.
