Susanna Bomfim, DO is a member of Summit Health’s Family Medicine team. Her passion is practicing primary care and preventative medicine for all age groups: pediatrics through adulthood. She had special interests in weight management, and routine well women’s care inclusive of pap smears, pelvic exams and contraception.

Dr. Bomfim’s approach to patient care is that “Medicine is a team effort. It is important to engage and work with patients to find a treatment plan that is both evidence-based and fits with their lifestyle,” she says. Further, she empowers patients to have autonomy over their medical care through patient education, making sure patients fully understand their disease and how to successfully manage it to align with their goals. Dr. Bomfim decided to pursue a career in health care because of the ability to impact and connect with people in a meaningful way to help them live healthy and satisfying lives.

When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, traveling, and playing golf. She is interested in educating the community about preventative care and healthy choices.
