Ami Shah, MD, is a member of Summit Health’s Allergy/Immunology team. Dr. Shah treats both adults and children with various allergic conditions. These include asthma, hives, eczema, contact dermatitis, and food and drug allergies. She also helps patients with immunodeficiency disorders. She completed her Allergy/Immunology fellowship training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She has authored and co-authored articles and abstracts published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology In Practice, Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. She is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.

Dr. Shah believes in shared decision-making. She uses data-driven medicine practices and patient input to develop a care plan. "Bidirectional honesty between doctor and patient is key," she says. This approach helps her develop strategies that consider a patient's goals and circumstances.

"Allergy/Immunology is an exciting field. We're always innovating to do better for patients with allergic conditions," Dr. Shah says. She values the long-term relationships she builds with her patients and their families. "I hope to provide up-to-date, evidence-based plans for my patients as I continue to get to know them over time," she adds.

Outside of her work, Dr. Shah has a variety of interests. She enjoys singing, hiking, and playing board games. She also loves spending time with her family and friends. As a New Jersey native, she is passionate about giving back to her community.
