Steve Mermelstein, MD, is a Summit Health physician with expertise in pulmonology. He has over 46 years of experience in the medical field, graduating from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1977. Dr. Mermelstein’s interest in medicine began as a high school student with a passion for biology.

Dr. Mermelstein has extensive clinical experience treating patients with obstructive lung disease, sleep apnea, COPD, and asthma as well as other breathing and pulmonary vascular conditions. When taking care of patients, his focus is to: “Have the patient feel comfortable with me and content when leaving the office, knowing that I have addressed their main concerns and successfully developed a plan to treat their pulmonary conditions."

When he is not seeing patients in the office, Dr. Mermelstein is interested in pursuing other passions, including studying the Talmud, running, skiing, and spending time with family.
