Swamini Sinha, MD, PhD, is a member of the Summit Health neurology team, specializing in child neurology. She understands that neurological disorders can be complex and intimidating, which is why she pursued a career in healthcare. She believes in helping children and families understand their diagnoses, in order to reach the common goal of giving all children the best opportunity to grow and lead meaningful and successful lives.

Dr. Sinha focuses on treating a variety of neurological and developmental disorders, including seizures/epilepsy, headaches, learning disabilities, developmental delay, ADD/ADHD, and autism. Her approach to patient care is very thoughtful and introspective. “My philosophy is to help my patients and families gain a deeper understanding of their symptoms, so that we can come up with a helpful treatment plan together,” explains Dr. Sinha.  

The most important thing to Dr. Sinha during a patient visit is that all questions and concerns have been addressed. She feels extremely satisfied and finds it rewarding to feel she has been part of helping a child overcome the challenges that can come with neurological issues. She finds that this puts everyone at ease, which then helps them decide together what their next steps are, whether that requires further testing, treatment, or observation.

Outside of treating patients in the office, Dr. Sinha enjoys spending time with her family, reading historical fiction, writing poetry, and staying active with her children and their dog, Shadow. She is also especially passionate about promoting mental health and wellness in children and adolescents, which is very important to her.

Lastly, Dr. Sinha is interested in educating the community about mental health and wellness, seizure safety awareness, and recognizing signs of stroke in children and when to seek emergent care.
