Dr. Boos received a bachelor of science degree magna cum laude in biology from the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at Pace University in Pleasantville. He then earned his doctorate of optometry degree from the State University of New York, College of Optometry in New York, during which he trained at the University Eye Center, Hudson Valley VA Medical Center and Woodhull Medical Center.

He went on to complete his optometric residency in ocular disease at the Hudson Valley VA Medical Center in Montrose, NY, where he was a clinical instructor to fourth year optometry students.

Before joining Summit Health (formerly Westmed Medical Group), he was an optometrist with Envisage, a private practice in Yonkers, NY.
