Dr. Silverman was on the staff at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY, where he served as chief of the neurology service, and founded and led the stroke service for 15 years. He was also an associate attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for 25 years.

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Silverman received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his neurology residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Dr. Silverman was a founding partner of Neurologic Consultants of Westchester that was established in 1976. He and his associates joined Summit Health (formerly Westmed Medical Group) in October 2010.
