This background allows her to consult with those who need guidance on behavioral health options to help manage emotional issues and with the PCPs who treat them. She also supervises social workers who are working toward their clinical licenses. Dr. Nikol is a member of the Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, New Jersey Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists and the International Association for Doctors of Behavioral Health. She completed her Doctor of Behavioral Health degree in 2017 and became a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider in 2019. After extensive first-hand experience with colleagues who lost friends and family members in the World Trade Center disaster, Dr. Nikol was inspired to "...enter a career in which I could help people heal and live mindfully." While working as a therapist and a behavioral health consultant in Primary Care, she learned that even small positive changes can make a big difference in her patients' abilities to function well, feel better, and improve and maintain their health. Her approach to counseling in a health care setting includes focus on the patient as a whole and mind/body connection for achieving overall health and wellness. She is a Certified Advanced Spinning instructor.
