Julianna Sher is an Optometrist who is a member of the Summit Health Ophthalmology team. Dr. Sher completed her residency in ocular disease and primary care at a private practice in northern New Jersey. She performs refractions for spectacle and contact lenses as well as general ocular health exams and school screenings.

Dr. Sher has a passion for dry eye care and new approaches for managing dry eye disease such as MeiboFlow, gland expression and autologous serum tears. Additionally, she enjoys guiding cataract patients in their pre and post operative care, providing education on the best treatment options for their specific needs.

Her philosophy with patients involves correct explanation of ocular pathology and good listening skills, leading to precise diagnosis and timely treatment. She values continuity of care and building trust. Dr. Sher believes eye care is a cornerstone to overall health – prevention and early detection of disease are keys to maintaining healthy eyes.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Sher is always up for trying new recipes, gardening, indoor cycling, hiking and reading a good fiction novel. She is also passionate about OneSight, an organization that supplies eye exams and glasses to those in underserved communities. She also supports The Seeing Eye and fosters guide dogs in training.
