About Marina Shaferman, PA-C
Marina Shaferman, MS, RPA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant. Before joining Summit Health Cardiology, Ms. Shaferman was a supervising physician assistant in the Department of Interventional Cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
A native of Russia, Ms. Shaferman's grandmother was affected by heart disease from the early age of 40. At the time in Russia, there was little other than medication to help people with heart disease. For this reason, Ms. Shaferman and her family arranged for her grandmother to have bypass surgery in the United States. Her grandmother died, however, after a third heart attack on the day she was granted approval to travel to the United States. Because she was deeply affected by her grandmother's experience, Ms. Shaferman was eager to help people through the practice of medicine, most particularly cardiology.
Ms. Shaferman is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
