Alternative Medicine or Integrative Medicine?
Complementary medicine is sometimes called alternative medicine or integrative medicine, but alternative and integrative medicine are not the same. Alternative medicine involves health and wellness treatments that do not include conventional medicine techniques such as surgery and pharmaceutical drugs.
Complementary medicine or integrative medicine combine conventional medicine with alternative medicine. Our health care professionals at Summit Health partner with physicians in internal medicine to identify complementary therapies that can improve your overall health and well-being.
