Building on already strong general neurology and neurosurgery teams, Summit Health’s Department of Neurosciences is ready to deliver world-class neurological services through a combination of strong general and specialty level expertise and a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach. Our neurosciences team consists of specialists—doctors, advanced practice nurses, chiropractors, physical therapists, and researchers—from our Neurology, Pediatric Neurology, Pain Management, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, Spine Surgery, and Chiropractic departments.
Summit Health offers integrated specialists who are co-located to provide one comprehensive, coordinated program at 140 Park Avenue in Florham Park. In addition, we offer neurosciences at many other locations.
We use the most advanced treatments, diagnostics, and imaging technologies and customized therapies to meet the needs of adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of neurological disorders, including headaches, migraines, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, Alzheimer’s and dementia, anxiety, depression, autoimmune diseases, and nervous system, musculoskeletal, brain and spinal cord trauma.
What Is Neurosciences?
Neurosciences—interdisciplinary science that involves a variety of specialties—is the study of the brain’s influence on behavior and cognitive function with a specific focus on the connection between psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders and their effect on the nervous system.

Imaging Technologies:
- Siemens Biograph mCT-20 with FlowMotion Technology PET-CT accurately identifies its precise location so radiation treatment planning is better targeted; commonly used to diagnose, stage, and/or restage a variety of types of cancer including breast, colorectal, esophageal, melanoma, lymphoma, lung, colorectal, head and neck, and cervical cancers.
- Siemens Symbia Evo Nuclear Medicine Camera System delivers high-quality SPECT images to facilitate physician decision making in general-purpose, cardiology, neurology and oncology studies.
- Canon Aquilion Prime SP CT produces optimal images with the lowest dose possible for every patient from pediatric to bariatric, up to 660-pounds. The scanner adapts to patients’ heart rate automatically, even overcoming unexpected arrhythmia.
- Siemens Artis Q Angiography System allows clear visualization of the smallest vessels and devices – static or in motion – even in challenging situations such as with obese patients and steep angulations. The system’s 3D imaging provides visualization of small bleedings in the head and millimetric HCC (Hepatocellular carcinoma) lesions in the liver.
- Siemens Artis Zee Multi-Purpose System for fluoroscopy and angiography provides optimal support for a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional procedures by combining 2k imaging with highly practical and user-friendly handling features.
- GE Senographe Pristina Mammography System is the first mammography system that brings 3D technology to our patients. This technology, also known as digital breast Tomosynthesis, delivers superior diagnostic accuracy at the same low dose as a 2D mammography exam, the lowest patient dose of all FDA-approved 3D mammography systems.
- GE Optima MRI 450w 1.5T with GEM Suite coil technology is designed to help maximize comfort for patients undergoing MRI exams.
