Note to Patients:
Please be advised that walk-in services for laboratory visits without an appointment or lab draw order are not available. Summit Health requires all patients to have either a scheduled appointment or a valid lab draw order before visiting any of our laboratory locations.

What is a Urinalysis Lab Test?
One of our most frequently performed laboratory services is urinalysis. A urinalysis is used to examine your urine for bacteria that cause infection. It also can be used to detect other substances that might indicate kidney or other diseases.
This urine lab test can be used to detect diseases of the urinary tract as well as the kidneys, bladder, and tubes that connect them. A urine test can help your doctor check for diseases that affect other parts of your body as well. For example, diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and certain autoimmune diseases can damage the kidneys. Read more about urinalysis.
Rare Lab Tests
Our onsite laboratory has accounts with specialty laboratories across the United States. The specialty labs allow us to get tests we cannot perform in-house for patients who have rare conditions. In some cases, we use the specialty labs to comply with insurance requirements.
