Applicants can apply for the cohort now; deadline is March 17
BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. (March 6, 2023) – Summit Health, a leading provider of primary and multispecialty care, in partnership with COPE Health Solutions, is seeking candidates for its second Advanced Practice Provider (APP) fellowship program cohort, set to matriculate in September 2023. All qualified Advanced Practice Nurses (Nurse Practitioners [NPs]) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who are seeking to advance their academic training in primary care are encouraged to apply by March 17 for the Fall 2023 fellow cohort: PA fellowship and NP fellowship.
The Summit Health APP Fellowship Program prepares fellows to become versatile providers and leaders in primary care by strengthening and developing their skills in a variety of clinical domains and through multiple learning modalities.
“Advanced Practice Providers play a vital role in our patient-centered care model, as well as with developing new and innovative approaches to serving our patients and communities,” said Dr. Beverly Karas-Irwin, RN, A.P.N. Vice President of Nursing & Advanced Practice Providers at Summit Health.
The fellowship curriculum supplements clinical skill and competency development with new provider tools, leadership resources, and value-based payment education, all of which help to support a successful transition to primary care practice. Throughout the program, fellows will complete weekly didactics, lead and attend journal clubs, take part in skills labs, and rotate through specialty offices. Each graduate from the program will be equipped with vital experiences to confidently deliver exceptional patient care.
The Future of Healthcare
Summit Health’s partnership with COPE Health Solutions, a leader in value-based care transformation, provides a unique opportunity for fellows to establish themselves as preventative medicine and population health leaders within their Summit Health teams.
“As more healthcare organizations prepare and transition to risk-based payment arrangements, it is critical to have a workforce that is trained in providing value-based care. Together with Summit Health, we believe it is crucial to include educational components related to providing care under different payment arrangements as a part of the fellow’s core curriculum,” said Elizabeth DuBois, DNP, FNP-BC, AAHIVS, principal and COO at COPE Health Solutions.
