The price of the procedure depends on the complexity of your case. Prices range from $7,500 to $22,000, similar to other types of plastic surgery like face lifts or rhinoplasty.

Your care team will give you an oral anti-anxiety medication and a local anesthetic to help you relax. They will shave an area in the back of your head and carefully remove the hairs. The donor hairs will then be placed in the thinning areas of your scalp. The procedure takes about four hours, so we recommend bringing in music or a movie to watch.

You will not be in pain, but you may have some swelling on your forehead and eyelids for a few days. You should be back to normal in about a week, but it will take several months for the new hair to grow. Be patient, it can be a year or so before you see full growth. The donor area will regrow hair right away and can be hidden by longer hair or by shaving the area.

It will take 3-4 months before you start seeing new hair and up to 12-16 months for full growth. Your hair will grow naturally and the result should be thicker hair in the treated areas. It may not be as dense as a full head of hair, but it will look natural and should last for a significant period of time.
