Dr. William Brown possesses extensive expertise in therapeutic endoscopy, with a focus on advanced procedures aimed at diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders. They are skilled in a wide range of techniques, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Dr. William Brown is particularly adept at managing complex cases, such as pancreaticobiliary diseases, gastrointestinal bleeding, and early gastrointestinal cancers.
Dr. William Brown received his college degree at Brown University, medical degree at NYU and residency at University of Michigan. He then received a gastroenterology fellowship including an advanced year of training at UCSF.
After his training, Dr. Brown first joined the NYU liver transplant team and performed advanced endoscopy for both the liver transplant patients and for the NYU community.
After NYU, Dr. Brown joined the largest advanced endoscopy group in Manhattan, working at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Brown specialized in failed procedures from the tristate area. He was known especially for helping patients with surgically altered anatomy using new techniques he developed.
Since joining Summit, Dr. Brown has continued to manage difficult pancreatic and biliary cases. He has also developed new methods for non invasively removing polyps and cancers without any surgical incisions. Using many new methods, he has cured esophageal, stomach, duodenal, jejunal and colon lesions and cancers. Patients who previously would have received a complete gastrectomy or partial colectomy are now routinely being discharged an hour after endoscopic removal.
