Jheanell Charles, PA, is a member of Summit Health’s Urology team. Ms. Charles pursued a career in health care because she enjoys interacting with people, addressing their concerns, and facilitating positive patient outcomes. She finds the science behind medicine very interesting because it is constantly evolving.

Ms. Charles evaluates patients in the office. She conducts routine men’s health screenings including workups for kidney stones and urinary tract symptoms as well as pre-and post-operative care. She also evaluates patients in the hospital setting. “My goal is to understand the patient’s concerns and address them efficiently, transparently communicating the plan from start to finish,” said Ms. Charles.

During a visit, Ms. Charles says it is important for the patient to be comfortable sharing how they feel so she can address their concerns. Ms. Charles enjoys knowing she has made a difference in their care and finds it rewarding to interact with many different types of people.

Ms. Charles is passionate about advocating for nursing mothers. Her experience also includes participating in research studies at Columbia University for the drug Pradaxa. Outside of caring for patients, Ms. Charles loves to travel and practice yoga in her spare time.
