About Kirsten Kolstad, PA
Kirsten Kolstad is a physician assistant practicing at Summit Health specializing in Orthopedic Spine surgery with Dr. Howard Yeon. She is board-certified with 27 years of clinical experience in orthopedics including spine, total joint replacement, sports medicine and orthopedic trauma. She has dedicated her career to the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic disease. She completed her Physician Assistant training with honors at Yale School of Medicine in 1994. She enjoys academics and has taught orthopedics to physician assistant students at Cornell and PACE Universities. She has performed orthopedic research and has participated in academic abstracts at national conferences with a published journal article.
Kirsten has a life- long love of sports. She played varsity women’s basketball at Trinity College where she was captain and a member of the 1000-point club. Her interest in the medical field first sparked when she tore her ACL in college that required surgical treatment.
Her philosophy on patient care is treating the whole patient and individualizing care to that person. Kirsten has excellent listening skills, a warm bedside manner, and has compassion for her patients. She has a special talent communicating medical diagnosis and treatment into terms patients can understand.
In her free time, you can find her golfing, hiking, gardening or watching her son play in all his sporting activities.
