About Gul R. Khan, PA
Ms. Khan received her undergraduate degree from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT. She earned her Master of Health Science in physician assistant studies from Quinnipiac University in North Haven, CT.
Ms. Khan spent her first few years in medicine on the hospitalist service at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she took care of a diverse patient population with a wide spectrum of disease processes. Ms. Khan then joined Yale's Heart and Vascular Center in Greenwich, CT and was responsible for their heart failure disease management program. The goal of the program was to provide comprehensive care to congestive heart failure (CHF) patients, including extensive CHF education and optimizing patients on guideline directed medical therapies, which have been shown to reduce morbidity, mortality and hospitalizations. During her time in the CHF clinic, Ms. Khan developed a strong interest in identifying patients with cardiac amyloidosis, which traditionally has been underdiagnosed. In addition, Ms. Khan has precepted numerous MD (doctor of medicine), PA (physician assistant) and NP (nurse practitioner) students during her time at Yale. She hopes to continue precepting students as it is something she truly enjoys.
