Neeti Patel, MD is a member of Summit Health's Endocrinology team. Dr. Patel practices adult general endocrinology with clinical experience in diabetes; thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, and parathyroid disorders; osteoporosis; and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Dr. Patel has a particular interest in transgender medicine, with experience starting and monitoring patients undergoing gender-affirming hormone therapy. She is board-certified in endocrinology.  

Dr. Patel approaches care by getting to know her patients and encouraging open and honest communication. “It is important to understand a patient’s life and experiences to create more personalized and achievable plans,” she said. She emphasizes education so patients can feel empowered about their diagnosis and treatment options, and to better manage their health.

The complex nature of endocrinology and opportunity to help a diverse patient population attracted Dr. Patel to health care. Endocrinology allows Dr. Patel to build long-term patient relationships which is one of her favorite aspects of being a physician. Her work toward improving disease outcomes, as well as her role in supporting patients’ challenges and success, are her favorite aspects of the job.

In her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys cooking and grilling, spending time with family and friends, and going to the beach. She is passionate about improving health care disparities pertaining to gender, minorities, and individuals with disabilities and believes that it is important that all patients get equal high-quality care to achieve long, healthy, and happy lives.
