Lalitha Anand, MD, FACP, is passionate about medicine. Her interest in healthcare was sparked at an early age when her grandfather was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. This led her to learn as much as she could about cancer biology and genetics. She also found her calling in working with patients during her time in college where she did both bench and clinical research.

Dr. Anand treats a wide variety of conditions within her field including both benign and malignant diseases. She believes that the best treatment plans combine the latest understanding within the field with compassion and empathy. She has a research background in clotting disorders and within oncology, she treats both blood cancers and solid tumor malignancies.

As an oncologist, Dr. Anand feels that treatment is a collaborative effort between providers, patients, and family members. She prioritizes listening to her patients and ensuring their treatment strategies are informed by their medical and personal needs. "Knowing my patients well allows me to apply an evidence-based approach with compassion and empathy," she says.

Outside of work, Dr. Anand loves spending her free time with her family and friends. She and her husband enjoy traveling and taking new cooking classes. As a hematologist/oncologist, she is interested in educating the community about screening and prevention of cancer. She has participated in health fairs in underserved areas of NJ and hopes to continue this throughout her career both locally and abroad.
