Julia Sann, MD is a board certified pediatrician with Summit Health who treats children from birth to young adulthood. She completed her pediatric training at Mount Sinai Hospital. Most recently prior to joining Summit Health, she worked at a private practice in Hoboken, NJ. Dr. Sann enjoys working with all age groups--empowering new parents, giving toddlers choices, and letting young children and adolescents actively direct their care.  She loves watching children grow and collaborating with their families. Besides being a skilled diagnostician, she is particularly passionate about health education, positive parenting, and helping to ease the stress of parenting and childhood. Among many health education initiatives, she has founded multiple sexual health education groups and served as a curriculum advisor for a parenting course directed at educating physicians.  

Dr. Sann hopes both children and parents leave her office feeling well taken care of, heard, and empowered. “One of my favorite things about pediatrics is the ability to give all children a voice in their own care. Whether children are 3 or 16, I look to them first to offer an opinion on why they’ve come to the doctor and discuss how they are feeling, both emotionally and physically”, she says. 

When not seeing patients, Dr. Sann enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and Monday crossword puzzles. Fun fact! Dr. Sann grew up in New Providence and was a recipient of two Summit Health scholarships for students pursuing careers in healthcare. In her youth, she was a professional actress and is still a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
